Baker Engineering Pte. Ltd. (“Baker Engineering”) was
incorporated inMay 2013 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of
Baker Tech. Baker Engineering complements and adds a
new dimension to Baker Tech’s core business segment by
designingandconstructingmobileoffshoreunitsandcritical
equipment/components for theoffshoremarine industry.
BakerEngineering’swholly-ownedsubsidiary–BELDesign
Pte.Ltd. (“BELDesign”)developsallofBakerEngineering’s
designs and completed its first Liftboat design, the
BEL320-4R200S Liftboat in 2014. The state of the art
Liftboat is classedby theAmericanBureauof Shipping for
Unrestricted Service and can work in water depths of up
to67m. TheBEL320-4R200SLiftboat has a four legswhich
supportsa largehullwhichcanbeelevatedabovesea level
toprovideastableplatformfromwhichoffshoreinstallation,
construction and maintenance work may be carried out.
BELDesigncontinues todevelopotherLiftboatdesigns to
expand its product offering to cater to the needs of the
offshore oil andgas andwind farm industry. Each design

targets a different sub-segment in terms of operational
use, water depths, environmental conditions, crane lifting
capacityandpersonnel accommodation.
A strike steel ceremonywasheldon7November 2014, at
Baker Engineering’s yard in Singapore to commemorate
the start of the Liftboat construction process for Baker
Engineering’s inaugural Liftboat. According to schedule,
the Liftboat’s keel was laid on 16 February 2015 and the
eventwaswitnessedbySurveyors fromABSPacific.
To further add a new dimension to its core business
segment, BEL Design is developing a Liftboat design
specifically for offshore wind farms – the BEL352-4T80W
Wind Turbine Installation Vessel (“WTIV”). ThisWTIV has
four trussed/lattice legs and has a variable deck load of
3,500MT. It can be equippedwith a 600~1000MT around
the leg crane, provides accommodation for 80 personnel
and iscapableofworking inwaterdepthsup to65m in the
offshorewind farms.
