In theyear of review, Baker
Engineeringcontinuedconstruction
of its subsidiary’s–BELDesign
PteLtd–first Liftboat design– the
BEL320-4R200SLiftboat.
The stateof theart Liftboat isclassed
by theAmericanBureauof Shipping
forUnrestrictedServiceandcan
work inwaterdepthsof up to67m.
TheBEL320-4R200SLiftboathas
four legswhich supportsa largehull
andcanbeelevated from the sea to
providea stableplatform fromwhich
offshore installation, construction
andmaintenanceworkmaybe
carriedout.
Theconstructionof the Liftboat,
namedBlueTitanium, was
completedduring the year and
subsequent to year end, theGroup
secured a timecharter for Blue
Titanium in Southeast Asia tobe
deployedduring the2ndquarter of
2018 to support rejuvenationworks
for oil andgas platforms for a
oil company.
BELDesigncontinues todevelop
other Liftboat designs toexpand
its product offering tocater to
theneeds of theoffshoreoil and
wind industry. Eachdesign targets
adifferent sub-segment in terms
of operational use, water depths,
environmental conditions, crane
liftingcapacity andpersonnel
accommodation.
BELDesignhas developed Liftboat
designswith412ft &450ft of
trussed/latticed legs; theBEL412-
4T206S and theBEL450-4T206.
Bothdesigns areof the4 legged
typewithelectric rack andpinion
jacking systemswith a300MT
deck crane, installed at the aft of
the Liftboat. Bothdesigns have a
variabledeck loadof 3,500MT and
accommodation for 206personnel.
BELDesignhas alsodeveloped a
design specifically for theoffshore
wind farms, theBEL352-4T80W
WindTurbine InstallationVessel
(WTIV)with352ft of trussed/lattice
legs. TheBEL352-4T80Whas a
variabledeck loadof 3,500MT and
canbeequippedwith a 1,000MT
around the legcrane. ThisWTIV
has an accommodation for 80
personnel andcanwork inwater
depths of up to65M.
Baker Engineeringoperates out
of threewaterfront shipyards
in Singapore, eachequipped
withproduction facilities, office
buildings, workshops and a
warehouse. Being situatedon a
waterfront, Baker Engineering
is able toprovide its customers
with anoption to transport
final products by sea. Baker
Engineering’s onsitewarehouse is
fully equippedwith a liveEnterprise
ResourcePlanning system, fully
integratedwithprocurement
division for inventory enhanced
traceability.
