Baker Engineering complements andenhancesBaker Tech’s corebusiness segment by designing and constructingmobile
offshoreunitsand critical equipment and components for theoffshoremarine industry.
Baker Engineering’swholly-owned subsidiary – BELDesign Pte. Ltd. (“BELDesign”) has designed and completed its first
Liftboat design, the BEL320-4R200S Liftboat. The state of the art Liftboat is classed and its basic design has been fully
approvedby theAmericanBureauof Shipping forUnrestrictedServiceandcanwork inwaterdepthsof up to67metres. The
BEL320-4R200S Liftboat has four legswhich supports a large hull which can be elevated from the sea to provide a stable
platform fromwhichoffshore installation, constructionandmaintenanceworkmaybecarriedout. BELDesigncontinues to
developotherLiftboatdesigns toexpand itsproduct offering tocater to theneedsof theoffshoreoil&gasandwind industry.
Each design targets a different sub-segment in terms of operational use, water depths, environmental conditions, crane
lifting capacity andpersonnel accommodation.
For the offshore windfarms, BEL Design has developed a Liftboat design specifically to address their requirements – the
BEL352-4T80WWind Turbine Installation Vessel (“WTIV”). ThisWTIV has four trussed/lattice legs and has a variable deck
loadof 3,500MT. It canbeequippedwitha600~1000MTaround the legcrane, providesaccommodation for 80personnel and
is capableofworking inwater depthsup to65metres in theoffshorewind farms.
Baker Engineering operates from two shipyards in Jurong in Singapore which includes office buildings and workshop
